River
Road Icehouse is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It's been
a good ride and we
are saddled up to hit the trail for another 10 years, by bringing memorable
musical performances
to the loyal crowds that call us home. With a lot of perseverance and
lots of hard work, we are as
strong as ever. The first year, we were honored to open with Pat Green.
It seems like only
yesterday that Pat and his band rocked our outdoor stage that first
time. Since our opening in
2001, we have had an estimated 800 events, including fundraisers, poker
runs, auctions, as well as
music events, with many of Texas' best live entertainment performances.
Pat Green, Kevin Fowler,
Jason Boland, Charlie Daniels, Pat Travers, Foghat, The Marshall Tucker
Band, Roger Creager,
Asleep At The Wheel, Gary P. Nunn, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jerry Jeff Walker,
The Late Rusty Wier,
Delbert McClinton and their sons, Django Walker, Coby Wier & Clay
McClinton are only some
of the many artists that have blessed our 3 stages with their presence,
to the delight of many
thousands of fans.
RRIH is the birthplace of the Texas Music Compound, where musicians
Dub Miller, Bleu Edmondson,
Doug Moreland, and our beloved and much missed friend Billy Applegate
once lived and had many
song swapping evenings under Texas moonlit nights. These impromptu performances
opened
doors to the movement that was growing up in our back yard. Those in
attendance were given a
memorable treat of singer / songwriting talent that has become a legend.
"Home to many, home away from home to many more" as once described
once by Matt Skinner
"Sometimes we follow legends, at RRIH, we make them" ... Jason
Boland
Larger summer concerts are held on our outdoor stage. Artists such as
Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler,
Casey Donahew regularly have sell out performances, with attendance
in excess of 2400 people.
We have seven cabins on the property that are available for rental.
This convenience allows our tenants the safety of not having to drive
a vehicle
after a night of fun at our concerts.
Our being located at the doorway to the Guadalupe River, along with
the Texas style camping
and water sports that we have to offer, has helped to turn this area
into a "Mecca" for Texas,
Americana, Red Dirt & Country music.
This years entertainment lineup is guaranteed
to have many performances you won't want to miss.
